The author is a PhD candidate at the Department of Legal Theory, Charles University Faculty of Law. He holds legal degrees from the Charles University (JUDr.) and the University of Oxford (MJur). His past interest in analytical jurisprudence and constitutional interpretation (the book Meze základních práv v České republice) was recently replaced by his zeal for philosophical approaches infused with observations from intellectual history or economic anthropology. He is grateful to Jiří Baroš, Jan Wintr, Pavel Ondřejek, and his two reviewers for their extensive comments. He also obtained generous help in the previous months from (alphabetically) Kristýna Abel Benešová, Peter Galie, Martin Hapla, Michal Šejvl and Katerzyna Žák Krzyzánková.
